An adventure or an afternoon out can be simple. You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars for a fun day out.

Often times, some of the best day trips are simply driving. I know that in New Hampshire, many locals and tourists will spend an afternoon driving up to the Kancamagus Highway, and driving the road that day.

Expenses? No. Fun and beautiful? Absolutely.

Taking in the views from some of the most beautiful roads in the area is a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Recently, Architectural Digest set out to find the top most beautiful streets in the not just the United States, but the entire world.

And one of the most beautiful streets in the world is in New England (I'll get to that).

Some of the notable streets on this list are wildly famous. For example, the #1 most beautiful street in the world is in Colmar, France.

You probably know the area, or have at least seen the crooked and unique houses along the street.

The next notable street (in the #4 spot) was in Águeda, Portugal.

EVERYONE knows the "umbrella street." It is so unique and cool (not that I have seen it in person).

And now, for New England's only street on this list.

Coming in at #35 out of the 71 most beautiful streets in the entire world is in Beacon Hill, Boston. More specifically, Acorn Street.

"Famous for its steep, narrow streets lined with classically American Federal–style (and a few Victorian) row houses, Beacon Hill was built in 1795, and it shows," according to Architectural Digest. "Acorn Street is one of the most photographed in the whole city—perhaps because it’s a stylish rendition of Colonial Boston."
