George’s Diner has been serving the Meredith community since 1991, owned and run by Owen Price. It’s the kind of place that feels frozen in time in the best possible way.

Think old-school booths, tiny two-seater tables, specials on a white board, syrup in glass-and-chrome dispensers, creamers stacked in a bowl, and those classic diner mugs.

My grandfather always kept it simple: over-easy eggs, generously salted, every single time. No matter how many years passed, that order never changed. And somehow, neither did George’s.

But George’s isn’t just a breakfast spot. They serve lunch and dinner, too, with daily specials that might include prime rib, burgers, meatloaf dinners, or a comforting chicken pot pie. It’s the kind of menu that feels like home, no matter what you order.

If you go, take my advice: order the hash or home fries extra crispy. And go all in with their French toast! And by that, I mean order it with strawberries and whipped cream. Unreal! Not a French toast fan? Don't worry, their omelets are equally delicious!

Places like George’s aren’t just about the food, they’re about the people you share it with and the memories that keep bringing you back, long after the plates are cleared.

Iconic Diners in New Hampshire

There’s just something about a diner… the coffee that never stops coming, the same booth people have probably been sitting in for 30 years, and a breakfast that somehow hits every single time.

As I’ve been getting to know New Hampshire, one thing became very clear — this state LOVES its diners. And not just any diners… we’re talking iconic, been-here-forever, locals-swear-by-it kind of places.

So I went down the rabbit hole (and got very hungry in the process) and pulled together some of the most iconic diners across the Granite State.

Did we get your favorite? Or are you already mad we missed one? 😅
