What Is the "Mountain Man" Food Challenge at Hydro Tavern in Berlin, New Hampshire?

The "Mountain Man" food challenge was first introduced at Hydro Tavern in February 2025.

Basically, you've got 60 minutes to chow down and finish off a 4x4 bacon cheeseburger, a half dozen buffalo wings, a pound of poutine, four mozzarella sticks, a basket of onion rings and a slice of your dessert choice.

If you can conquer this insane meal, you get it for free, a shirt and your face on the wall.

Has Anyone Beaten the "Mountain Man" Food Challenge in New Hampshire?

For the longest time, no one seemed to be able to complete the "Mountain Man" food challenge. But honestly, the amount of food you'd have to finish, kudos to those who even attempted.

It wasn't until May 2025, when a New Hampshire man saddled up to the table and became the first victor of the "Mountain Man" challenge.

I can only imagine how I would feel after even attempting to eat that level of food. Congratulations for sure.
