I love when the community gets involved in the task of naming something/someone. Whether it's a new school, restaurant, or new plow for New Hampshire's Department of Transportation:

I love a solid brainstorm on a community forum. It is often the names that were not selected that are the most outlandish and hilarious. Of course, those are my favorite.

Let's name the goats!

A woman named Brittani from Raymond New Hampshire took to a community Facebook group for some suggestions. She was given naming rights for twin goats that were just born, a boy and a girl. The comments came pouring in and some of them had me howling.

Here are some of my favorites:

  • Pebbles and Bam Bam (we love a nod to the Flintstones)
  • Mork and Mindy
  • Hansel and Gretel (a classic)
  • Jalapeño and Popper (delicious, spicy, hysterical)
  • Hall and Oats (I liked this one for obvious reasons and Oats the Goat has a nice ring to it)
  • Jack and Coke
  • Gin and Juice
  • Phil and Lil (a la Rugrats)
  • Bernie and Phyl
  • Edith and Archie
  • Mac and Cheese
  • Bonnie and Clyde (the person who suggested this said "because we all know goats can be trouble makers!)
  • Fred and Ethel OR Lucy and Ricky (I love the idea of coming home to your goats and yelling "LUCCCYYYY, I'M HOMEEEE!!!")

EDIT: At the end of the day Brittani said she went with Duke and Daisy! She thanked everyone for their input but she ended up going with the names that were in her heart and that is her right!

I loved these suggestions so much I might have to adopt a couple of kittens just so I can name them.
