NH Transitional Facility Escapee Found in Somersworth Woods

A former Somersworth man who didn't return to a state transitional facility in October was found in the woods in Rollinsford on Friday.

Jacob Maciaszek, 32, did not return to the Calumet House Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester after working a shift at his job on October 7, and was considered to be an escapee.

Following a search that included the State Police Special Enforcement Unit Aviation Division helicopter, Maciaszek was taken into custody by Somersworth and Rollinsford Police at a campsite.

Maciaszek was charged with burglary and receiving stolen property. Before his escape, he would have been eligible for parole in February. He is being held without bail at the Strafford County House of Corrections on the burglary charge.

Calumet House is a 64 unit facility for male inmates that is the final stage of an inmate's incarceration. The inmates are able to learn job skills and participate in a work release program in preparation for their re-entry into society.
