🚨 A man and woman attempted two carjackings in Salem

🚨 A young woman was carjacked at gunpoint and her car stolen

Police are looking for a man and woman involved in two attempted carjackings, and one that was successful on Tuesday night in Salem.

Massachusetts State Police said Haverhill Police had chased a white Kia sedan on Route 97, but ended the pursuit near the New Hampshire border just after 10 pm. Salem Police then received calls about attempted carjackings on the road also known as Main Street in Salem, during which a rifle was shown. The drivers got away in their vehicles.

The car blocked the young driver of a Toyota Camry as she turned from Geremonty Drive onto Main Street, according to Mass State Police. The driver was forced out of the car at gunpoint, and the vehicle stolen. The thieves left their white sedan parked in the middle of the road, and had the same license plate as the earlier vehicle pursued in Haverhill.

The stolen Camry is black with New Hampshire plate 2260113 with Central Catholic High School and WPI stickers on the back window.

Witnesses described the gun as an AR-15-type rifle.

The man is identified by Salem Police as Nathan Saben, 35, of Haverhill. He is a white man, six foot one inches tall, and approximately 220 pounds. He has black hair, hazel eyes, and tattoos on the right side of his neck and both forearms.

A description of the woman was not disclosed by police.

He is considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached. Anyone with information should call Salem Police at (603) 893-1911.
