James ‘Whitey’ Bulger Sends Surprising Letter to Boston Magazine
What is most striking to me is how beautiful and perfect the handwriting is on this snail mail correspondence with Boston Magazine.
It has been confirmed that this letter was indeed written by James 'Whitey' Bulger from his current place of residence, a United States Prison in Coleman, Florida. Apparently, there was a numerical error in the address that prevented the magazine from being delivered directly to him.
He finishes the correspondence with the very positive quote "Look forward to your magazine." Which certainly sounds a lot different than the frightening character we in New England have come to know through the years. The movie 'Black Mass' based on his life featuring Johnny Depp will be released in theaters September 18th.
