Last Turkey Sandwich Brings Intense Sadness
There are two kinds of people in this world, those that dislike turkey leftovers and those that could eat turkey leftovers happily for breakfast, lunch and dinner for a decade. I'm in that last demographic.
What you are looking at in the photo above is the final pieces of turkey from Thanksgiving 2019.
That's not entirely true. The rest of the bird is being utilized for a large soup and an even larger turkey tetrazzini so, all is not lost.
However, the unbridled joy of throwing down two pieces of bread, slathering one slice with Cains Mayo and sprinkling it with black pepper and loading the other side with cold pieces of both dark and white turkey meat?
Only to devour that masterpiece in three or four bites with an ice cold beer, or eggnog?
Glorious.
All one can do is embrace the theme of the season and be thankful for the dozen or so sandwiches that I have inhaled, and wait until next year.
Perhaps we'll have turkey for Christmas!?
