Both Ann Taylor and Loft are shuttering some of their stores as part of their parent company's bankruptcy due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to USA Today. It wasn't too long ago that the Ascena Retail Group purchased Ann Taylor and Loft retail stores for $2.16 billion, as per Getty. That happened in 2015, when Ascena reportedly decided to expand its women's apparel business. The New Jersey-based company filed for bankruptcy late last week.

Ascena also owns Justice, Lane Bryant, Lou & Grey, Cacique, Catherines, and the now defunct Dressbarn, according to USA Today.

In New England, several Ann Taylor and Loft stores and outlets are closing. Here are some of them:

There are none in Maine and New Hampshire.

In Massachusetts, the Loft store in Hyannis is being shuttered. And, the Loft outlet store in Dorchester is shutting down.

In Vermont, the Ann Taylor store and the Loft outlet at the Manchester Center are both closing.
