Did someone say vegan donuts AND coffee? Count us in.

This Friday, November 4, Lovebird Donuts will be opening its first New Hampshire location at 33 Vaughan Mall in Portsmouth. The original craft donut and coffee shop is based in Kittery, Maine, and recently celebrated two years of being among just a handful of plant-based donut shops in the country, according to their website.

So, what's Lovebird Donuts all about?

The website describes Lovebird as an "independent, plant-based, future-focused (donut!) company" offering both craft donuts and organic coffee. Everything is 100% vegan, including beverages, and the donuts are "free from preservatives, dough conditioners, and other chemicals." There are even a few gluten-free options as well.

According to this Facebook post, Lovebird Donuts' new Portsmouth location will be offering takeout services only, and on a first-come, first-serve basis. It's important to get there on the earlier side, as the donuts will often sell out. The website's FAQ page explains the reason for this:

...our donuts and toppings are all made from scratch. Several factors are considered when planning how many we can or will make in a day, and the final amount is determined and prepped for one day in advance. It is impossible to predict the exact amount we will sell, and part of our mission is to minimize food waste. If more donuts are ordered than we projected, or we simply sell the maximum number we can physically make, then we have to be done for the day!

Lovebirds Donuts will open their new Portsmouth location this Friday, November 4, at 8am. To learn more about this special shop, click here.
