According to article in the Portland Press Herald, soon after the Unicode Consortium released proposed images of 157 new emojis, Maine residents reacted to the lobster emoji’s eight legs. Mainers know that the correct answer is 10 legs. They took issue. The article states Emojipedia Chief Emoji Officer Jeremy Burge says the consortium heard people’s complaints and is releasing updated designs for the lobster emoji.

The update is set for next year. Phew!
