If you're anything like this writer, summer days can't come fast enough.

Despite the underwhelming winter, we're eagerly anticipating when the world becomes sunny and colorful again. And of course, that means looking ahead to summertime and making plans for the season.

Locals and tourists alike love New England's amusement parks, from New Hampshire's Canobie Lake Park and Story Land to Maine's Funtown Splashtown and Massachusetts' Six Flags New England. No matter where you live, there's no shortage of places to enjoy rides, games, and similar fun activities with friends and family.

Then of course, there are the water parks; staple summer attractions in the region. When the temperatures rise, there's nothing better than going for a swim, riding a water slide, or relaxing in a lazy river. One of New England's best water parks, Water Country, is just as excited as we are for warmer days, and has posted their official 2024 calendar. Take a look:

It's official, friends. Water Country's 2024 opening day will be Saturday June 1. So mark those calendars, cause you'll soon be able to conquer the waves in the wave pool, brave Dr. Von Dark's Tunnel of Terror, and face a dragon in the Dragon's Den (check out the below POV clip to get extra excited for summer).

We still have a ways to go until June 1, but in the meantime, you can purchase Water Country season passes or tickets here.

Here's a look at some other water parks in New Hampshire and Maine.
