A Massachusetts woman was killed when she was ejected from a motorcycle that went off the road in Lyman on Saturday morning.

Maine State Police said Anne Stout, 50, of Maynard was the passenger on a motorcycle heading north on Old Berwick Road around 11:30 a.m. that went onto the soft shoulder and left the roadway and went into a ditch.

Stoudt was thrown from the motorcycle and died from her injuries, according to police. The driver, Gerald Gibson, 51, of Sanford sustained minor injuries and was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Police said neither Stoudt or Gibson were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

A preliminary investigation closed Old Berwick Road over two hours.
