New England Facebook Users Could Have Been Affected By Network Breach
There was a network breach on Facebook that could have potentially exposed the personal information of approximately 50 million users, including people who live in New England, according to our news partner WMTW.
Facebook engineers are trying to fix the problem which they say may have messed up a feature of Facebook called “View As." It allows people to see how their own profile looks to other users. WMTW reports the hackers got ahold of “access tokens, which could have allowed them access to someone’s account." Facebook officials reportedly alerted law enforcement, and the company's engineers are also still investigating the breach. They do not know who the hackers are.
