In this year where everything is either cancelled, backwards, closed, upside down or downright weird, some notable NH Bike Week bars will not be opening. This WMUR-TV report reveals what to expect on the Route 3 Beltway.

“In an effort to ensure compliance with the updated regulations related to the Covid 19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close the Laconia Broken Spoke as of Monday, August 17th.

As much as we regret not being part of the Laconia Motorcycle Rally, we feel the safety of our patrons and compliance with the regulations is of utmost importance.

We will miss seeing everyone but wish you a happy and safe event!” - Broken Spoke Saloon - Laconia

As you may or may not know, I love playing the classic video games up at Funspot and usually visit at least 3 or 4 times a year. Normally, after a few rousing sessions of Galaga and Jungle Hunt, my buddies and I will go just down the road to The Broken Spoke for dinner and 1 to 5 beers (depending on who is driving).

I love the menu, the beer selection and the great line up of bands that play there. The first time I heard 'Dancing Madly Backwards' was at this establishment and they're one of my absolute favorites.

I'll be honest, I still freak out a bit at the One Way Lanes in the grocery store so, I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like trying to make every safe AND happy in these times.

I'm glad that each place is taking this seriously and hopefully this nightmare will all be over that much sooner because of it.
