According to a report from WMUR, deer tick and the dog tick diseases are on the rise.

In the report, Beth Daley, the State Infectious Disease Specialist said there's been a doubling of anaplasma  (dog tick)  and babesia (deer tick.)

Also in the WMUR report, Dr. Julia Greenspan advises that if you get bitten, to keep the bug.  It has a lot of information and shouldn't be thrown away.

With all due respect to Dr. Greenspan, but I can't see myself keeping the little critter.  Maybe if I remember that it could really help with the treatment, but I can just see myself running away in a panic and throwing that thing as far away from me as possible!

Be safe out there. Where long pants and socks.  That's what I'm gonna do.  My legs haven't seen the light of day since 1978 anyway, so I think I'll be fine.
