According to a story from WMUR, 28 German Shepherds are getting ready to be adopted at the NHSPCA in Stratham.

You might recall the story, the dogs were considered evidence in an animal cruelty case.  Their former owner, Jennifer Choate, was charged with animal cruelty 22 months ago.

In an email received by the NHSPCA Wednesday, Choate had surrendered the dogs and they now can begin to get ready to find their forever home, the news station reported.

The dogs are not available for adoption yet as the NHSPCA has to get them ready first.

When I was a girl, I had a German Shepherd named Summer.  She was THE BEST dog a kid could ever ask for.  I say that as an animal lover.  We know that all animals are great, but sometimes, there's one that's extra special and Summer was mine.

Looking forward to the day that the dogs can be taken home!

A previous version of this story incorrectly stated the dogs were ready for adoption. The dogs are not available yet as the NHSPCA has to get them ready for adoption.
