Charming Fall Camping Experience for Non-Campers is in Massachusetts
So you don’t own a camper, nor do you want to rent one and drive or pull it around. Or maybe you're just not into camping that much, but still want that elevated camping experience. Here's a wonderful camper vs non-camper compromise.
How about stepping it up a bit with a glamping-specific resort? It’s called AutoCamp because it consists of stunning, comfy, custom-built Airstreams, cottages, and luxury tents near the scenic Shining Sea Bikeway. According to Boston.com, the year-round resort opened two springs ago in 2021 in Falmouth, Massachusetts, on the Cape.
I immediately jumped on the AutoCamp website and found out that it operates similar to a hotel and resort. There's a two-story clubhouse with ocean views you can enjoy, as well as activities like yoga, live music, farm-to-table dining, fireside speaker series, food and cocktail tastings, and more. And remember how I mentioned it’s on the Shining Sea Bikeway? Well, if you don’t want to bring your bicycle, you can rent one and enjoy your own excursions along the trail.
According to the AutoCamp website, these high-end, boutique-style, mid-century modern design airstreams make that camping (or glamping, let's be honest) a unique way to enjoy the Cape. There are 88 Airstreams that are 31 feet long, 10 tiny houses, and 10 luxury canvas tents. The tents are only available in the spring, summer, and fall, which makes sense. There isn’t daily housekeeping, because remember, it’s camping. That said, you can request it if you need it.
It’s always fun to find something unique in New England that we can take advantage of, even during the off season.
