Peter Frates’ Sports Auction Benefits ALS Patients

The family of Peter Frates has an ongoing auction with an incredible amount of terrific sports memorabilia that you have to see to believe. Get your bids in because it ends Friday!

Peter Frates was a Beverly Mass. native and a baseball star at Boston College. He then went on to inspire the entire world with his seven year battle against ALS.

By the way, I'm not overstating things when I write 'inspire the entire world' because his 'Ice Bucket Challenge' did just that. The image I used above is from Melbourne, Australia and it's from the Official World Record Attempt at a simultaneous ice bucket challenge.

Sports stars, rock stars and superstars all participated in this promotion of ALS awareness and donations came pouring in as fast as the ice water.

My personal favorite was from actor Sir Patrick Stewart as he very smoothly followed the rules and took the path less traveled in his very dignified manner.

Well the fight against ALS goes on. In memory of Pete Frates, his family has teamed with KBK Sports to put together an auction with items that would be the envy of any sports fan.

This really has it all. You want a rare Bill Russell signed photo with all his 11 Boston Celtics Championship Rings? They've got one. New England Patriots autograph photos from the 70's and 80's? Yes. Autographed stuff from virtually every World Series Championship The Red Sox have won over the past 17 seasons? YUP!
