Pressure Cooker Left in New Hampshire Market Basket Parking Lot

A pressure cooker left in a shopping cart in a parking lot led to the evacuation of a Seacoast supermarket on Tuesday morning.

Seabrook Police said a call came in around 10:55 a.m. leading up to the evacuation of the neighboring Paper Store as well and a perimeter set up around the cart.

An inspection of the device by the New Hampshire State Police Explosive Disposal Unit and State Police determined there was no threat.

"This incident is a perfect example of ‘see something, say something,'" Seabrook Police Chief Brett Walker said in a statement. "The caller recognized the device and that it was out of place and contacted the police."

Two pressure cookers filled with metal, nails, and ball bearings exploded at the Boston Marathon in 2013 killing three people and injuring hundreds.
