Rant About Regular Rochester Rubbish Route Ruse

For those of you Lilac City residents that followed your official trash calendar and were left holding the bag? I'm here to let you know it happened to me too.

I've never had any issues with the removal of Trash and/or Recyclables in my 20 plus years of dealing with Waste Management, however, I wouldn't be true to myself if I didn't whine, complain and rant about the error on the 2020 Collection Schedule Calendar.

There is it , above, as plain as the robin's egg blue highlight square on MLK Jr. Day.

Now here's the policy.

Yet, when I wheeled my Tuesday Morning bins out on Tuesday at dusk, there they remained, untouched, for what was supposed to be the day of their delayed pickup.

After calling and texting every fellow Rochester resident I know, I was told by a friend of a friend that the message of regular collection was on the first page of the Rochester City Website (Rochesternh.net)

And there it is.

Luckily, I was able to get my Nana's and my folks trash out at it's regular time today.

Now, anytime there is a question about the Holiday schedule, I will go to that website.

The paper calendar that I have followed dutifully for ages? It'll be going out in next week's overflowing bin.
