According to a report from WMUR, Social Security recipients who do NOT file tax returns will be able to receive checks from the U.S. Treasury Department from the coronavirus response stimulus package..  A call in to Senator Hassan's DC office confirmed this.

The report states that Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said,

Social Security recipients who are not typically required to file a tax return do not to need take an action and will receive their payment directly to their bank account.

I am so very happy that this was addressed and the people who rely on Social Security checks only will also get the stimulus checks.  It would be wrong otherwise!

If you have any other questions concerning this or any other concern that you may have for the Senator, Hassan said that people should call her office directly at 603-622-2204.  When I called to confirm the information, I spoke with Will who was able to answer any question that I had whether it had to do with this or not.
