Down By The River?

Yes! It's a bit of a trick question.

It has always been at Henry Law Park (at least for the last 18 years or so that I've been here).

But way back in the the summer of 2003, it was located on the wooden platform that is adjacent to the Cocheco River, closest to the junction River Street and Henry Law Avenue.

And once upon a time, the time was completely different too!

These shows used to begin at 11AM on Thursdays and you can only imagine how hot things got during those two hours when the sun was highest in the sky.

We stuck to that schedule for a while, but thankfully, ended up moving to Wednesday nights from 6-8pm. A cooler timeslot weather wise AND it gives people who work during the day much better access to see these great shows.

2021 Schedule

Rosie - July 7th

Grenon - July 14th

Tapedeck Heroez - July 21st

Dancing Madly Backwards - July 28th

Aunt Peg - August 4th

Wellfleet - August 11th

I love the fact that the schedule has never gotten any smaller, back when I started here and dinosaurs ruled the Earth, it was a six week schedule. It has remained that way through thick and thin.

Another amazingly permanent feature of Shark In The Park?

It's completely free!

See you at 6pm on July 7th for Rosie!

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
