This isn't great news for kids who need face to face connection with their teachers.  According to a story from WMUR, SNHU has decided to keep remote learning for the Fall of 2020.

This type of learning doesn't work for all students and although I'm hopeful that this is temporary, there may be some students who just can't do it and decided to quit altogether.

Hanging in the balance is the sports teams at Southern NH University.  I have to admit, I didn't know that they even HAD sports teams at the SNHU, but they do.  They have 10 teams and 120 athletes, according to the story from WMUR, including women's soccer.

The report cites Senior Reanna Romano who says this if all sports are postponed:

I'd be pretty mad. Pretty sad. Mixed emotions........It's the last time you're going to play with the friends you made on the field. They are like family. I hope we go back. I think all the seniors hope we go back.

Reanna was spot on right.  My niece, Abby, was on the swim team at UMass Dartmouth and the other kids on the team were absolutely like family.  We worried less about Abby when she was away from us because she was with such a great group of students and her coaches always looked out for her.  The swim team also gave her an education in working as a team and a strong sense of community.  Everyone had one another's backstroke.  (I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself.....)

I am hopeful that sports for the SNHU will return in the fall.
