It's a Memorial Day Weekend tradition, Barry Scott with three amazing hours of 'Pop Heaven' on Sunday night's "The Lost 45's'". Here's a hauntingly beautiful song from Jim Croce.

'Time in a Bottle' - Jim Croce

Barry will play this demo version which, IMHO, seems more authentic than the cut from Croce's first album 'You Don't Mess Around With Jim'. That album's title makes my point for me, as I prefer the track without feedback layering and harpsichord.

This song has a strange history as it was re-released as a single after Croce's tragic death in September of 1973 and dominated the charts as a Number 1 for a few weeks in late '73 and early '74.
