This Video of Newborn Otters at Zoo New England in Massachusetts Will Melt Your Heart

These newborn otters, or kits, are at Zoo New England's Stone Zoo in Stoneham, Massachusetts.

They're a first for the zoo, and melting hearts everywhere.  Just look at how precious, furry, and teeny tiny.

Although they were born on February 16, their official presentation, or coming out to the world as it were, is right now.  So, welcome to the first-time mom, Dunkin, who is taking such good care of her three North American River Otter Kits.

Here's the absolutely adorable video that starts in black and white when they were first born, before dissolving into color.

All four are doing well according to Zoo New England, and the kits should start swimming and playing on their own by the end of March.  Sadly, the kits' father, Sushi, was a 16-year-old otter who recently died of old age. So, it's up to mom to nurture them.

According to the zoo, North American River Otters weigh around 4 ounces at birth. Just to give you an idea, that's the same as a deck of cards. And these cuties will grow up to weigh anywhere between 10 to 30 pounds.

And here's another interesting fact: kits are actually born blind and with no teeth, according to the zoo. So, these little guys are totally dependent on their mom right now.
