June 8th 1969:
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts pay a visit to Brian Jones at his home in Cotchford Farm to chat about his future in the band, which ended with a press statement saying that Brian was leaving The Rolling Stones.
June 9th 1972:
Columbia Records signs Bruce Springsteen and he starts to form the E Street Band using ex-band mates from Asbury Park.
June 10th 1986:
Jerry Garcia falls into a five day diabetic coma, resulting in the The Grateful Dead withdrawing from their 1986 tour.
June 11th 1966:
There are erroneous reports that The Who's lead singer Roger Daltrey was dead. In fact, days earlier, it was Pete Townsend who had been injured in a car accident.
June 12th 1965:
The Beatles received the 'Members of the British Empire" medals or MBE. They were immediately met with protests, including one high ranking official who was quoted as saying 'British Royalty has put me on the same level as a bunch of vulgar numbskulls'.
