Three Ballgames in 8 Hours = City Wide Champs
My Nephews Caleb and Connor hoist their Rochester City Wide Cal Ripken trophies for a personal 'Threepeat' ! You won't believe the amount of baseball they had to play yesterday for this impressive achievement.
12:50pm Barrington Youth Association Ballfields
It was an inauspicious beginning to the day as their U-11 All Star team was trounced 14-0 by arch-rival Dover. Thankfully the '10 run rule' made it possible for Caleb (Centerfield) and Connor (1st Base) to vacate Barrington with plenty of time to make their 'Major 60's' City Semi-Final at 3:30pm.
3:45pm Roger Allen Park & Memorial Field, Rochester NH
This was an excellent game that featured terrific defense despite it's 10-6 final. S-U-R Construction were worthy adversaries. A 4 run lead at this level is never a sure thing and it seemed up for grabs until the very last out.
7:46pm Roger Allen Park & Memorial Field
The Rotary bats were on fire! When you combine that with great pitching and defense you get a 4 inning 11-0 '10-Run Rule' Championship!
Congratulations are also due to Profile Bank as they were seeded 7th in this tourney and made it all the way to The City Wide Final!
