Let's hear some commotion for these ladies.

What ladies, you ask?

I'll back this up.

I drive to the WOKQ and Shark studios on Middle Road in Dover, New Hampshire, every weekday morning. I am usually on Middle Road sometime between 4:30 and 5:30 am (depending on the day).

For nearly two years, during those dark morning hours, I have seen the same two women walking or running.

No matter the weather, no matter the time of year or the darkness, the pair are religiously getting their bodies moving bright and early.

Ladies, I commend you.

Two years ago, I would see you both walk. One of you had on some small reflective gear.

Now, after two full years of moving every morning, I see you both jogging. Not walking. You have added bright neon glow-in-the-dark backpacks. You have added a dog into the mix.

What I am getting at here is that I have seen both of you grow. You don't even know who I am. And I don't know a thing about either of you, but you are my example.

Let these two women be an inspiration to everyone. Where you are now does not matter. Where you want to be does matter. You may hardly be able to walk a mile this year, but next year, you may be jogging two.

Start your goals. Give it a try. These women may have been crawling out of bed miserable every morning, forcing themselves to walk. Now, however, they are jogging, talking, and (I like to think as I drive by) happy to be moving so early in the morning.

To the women who run every morning on Middle Road in Dover, thank you. Thank you for reminding me, and everyone reading this, that it does not matter how you start.

It's about getting up, getting after your goals, and making it happen.
