At first glance, I thought this story would probably make the reader chuckle. However, if you read further, you'll see that this is a disgusting case of vandalism that really makes you wonder what is wrong with the perpetrator(s).

This wasn't just any Ronald McDonald statue sitting on a bench at an abandoned parking lot, this was at The Ronald McDonald House in Burlington, Vermont.

From WCVB

The Ronald McDonald House provides a comfortable and home-like setting for out-of-town families receiving vital medical care in Burlington, including cancer treatment. Volunteers were at the house Wednesday, preparing dinner for the families there.

The statue was burnt, decapitated and had it's feet removed. The crime happened at night and no security cameras are focused on the area so it's unlikely that the culprit or culprits will ever be caught.

Several GoFundMe pages have already been set up to help defray the costs of a replacement statue but I'm just going to add the direct link to the Burlington facility so you may donate there if you could be so kind.

This video for the Philadelphia facility really tugs at the heartstrings and does a great job showing the great work that is done at these places.
