Following an incident last October, a memorial honoring Vietnam War veterans was vandalized Thursday. One day after it was fully restored.

Not the kind of thing you ever want to see, but especially before Memorial Day, a veterans' memorial in Dorchester, Massachusetts was vandalized again. According to Boston.com, shrubs and American flags were littered across the area. Also, “hate-related graffiti,” including a swastika were written on a stone.

Massachusetts State Police released a statement. "Several dozen recent plantings of shrubs and flowers were torn out of the ground, numerous flags were ripped down and thrown into a wooded area. Preliminary investigation indicates that the crimes were committed early this afternoon."

The site is maintained by the University of Massachusetts Boston. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage. UMass Boston Interim Chancellor Katherine Newman said the school recently installed a security camera at the memorial, which was necessary after the display was damaged last fall.
