What I Would Say To My Mother This Mother’s Day If I Could
Mother's Day is Sunday and sometimes, when I want to talk to my Mother, I write her a letter. She passed away on February 18, 2016. Mother's Day can be kind of rough, but, she wouldn't want me to be sad. She'd hand me some food and tell me to cheer up. Anyway, here's what I want to say to her on this Mother's Day:
Dear Mom,
You've been gone over two years now and I miss you every minute of every day.
I have a great new job now, Mom! I work at a station on the New Hampshire seacoast, The Shark, not far from the hotel you and Lenny used to stay at on Hampton Beach. I do the morning show with Aaron Lapierre. I don't know if you remember Aaron, but we used to work in Portsmouth together over 10 years ago at another radio station. You would love him, Ma. He loves to eat, he's funny and I'm sure you'd think of him as another son. If you still had your human body, I'm sure you'd come on the show and crack jokes with him and Jodi from Accounting.
Since you've been gone, I learned that instead of crying that you're gone, I celebrate that you were here. When I tell people that you're not with us anymore, I usually joke about it and I know you'd be okay with that. You taught me how to laugh, always look for the silver lining and see the best in every person that I meet.
But Mom, I won't ever believe that OJ was innocent.
I love you forever, Ella. Happy Mother's Day.
Love, Sarie
