With the seemingly unending heavy rains and snowstorms this last week, I was sure that some serious changes were bound to happen to the NH Drought Map. I WAS RIGHT!

For the first time since Mid-August, The Granite State is no longer under EXTREME drought conditions!

It was getting rather worrisome for members in The Shark listening area as of late October when NH's Seacoast area was entirely engulfed in the bright red color that represents EXTREME.

Now, those days are gone and we are all in the cooler and earth toned color of SEVERE. Granted that doesn't sound much better, but we're certainly closer to normal than the extreme conditions of last Autumn.

In an effort to prove that point, here's a comparison (ABOVE) of today's updated map and what NH's Drought looked like exactly one year ago today.
