If the officers in Farmington witness good behavior, it could mean a free pizza or free french fries. I have my own list of good deeds that I'd be on the lookout for. I wonder if they match up.

The reason for this is because the department is inspired by how well the towns people has navigated this tough winter.

"We’ll be looking not only for people in violation of our laws in the state of New Hampshire, but we’ll also be looking out for people that are following the law – using crosswalks, driving properly, using turn signals,” said Chief John Drury of the Farmington Police Department.

If I were in charge of ticketing for good behavior, I'd also look for the following:

1. Pedestrians yielding for me in crosswalks as I barrel down the street in my car. It's much easier for you to stop than me driving on slippery roads.

2. People allowing me to park in their freshly dug out parking spot instead of themselves. I promise to pay it forward eventually. Maybe next year.

3. Drivers allowing me to grab onto their bumper as they drive on snow covered roads and pull me for a bit. Bumper sliding, or skitchen, there are many names for this old winter pastime for people of all ages. I'd reward that.

4. Instead of not delivering my mail because I haven't shoveled a path, the mailman walking up over the 10 foot snow drifts in my yard to my front door to personally hand me my mail. That's worth some fries.

Those are just a few of the deeds I would reward with a pizza or fries. My list might seem a tad self-centered to some, but looking out for number one is how I've navigated this winter.
