One of the major stories of this past summer was the 'Hands free' law that went into effect July1 in NH.

That law makes the use of handheld electronic devices illegal in the Granite State. Holding a cell phone, unless it's an emergency, is can get you pulled over by law enforcement. The driver and device must be hands-free.

Until recently, local law enforcement agencies were passing out more warnings than tickets. But that practice may be coming to an end.

"We were intentionally giving out a lot of warnings in the beginning and now we’re not,” said Dover Police Lt. David Martinelli."

In fact, some officers have indicated that they saw more compliance earlier in the summer than they do now.

So heads up! If you are observed by an officer of the law holding your phone while driving, it's probably going to cost you.
