This should kick up the scary meter on Halloween.

Asteroid and Earth : Meteor impact

An asteroid the size of a football stadium is to fly past Earth on Halloween. This asteroid is expected to miss us by 310,000 miles, but for some reason, that seems close to me.

Astronomers have nicknamed this asteroid "Spooky", and it should make it's pass by on the afternoon of October 31st. NASA says there is no threat of impact.

Even though I'm not a Sci-fy guy, I am curious when space rocks the size of Gillette Stadium are zooming past us.

The good news is this Halloween fly-by will be the closet an asteroid comes until 2027.
