New Hampshire Fish and Game say the fee increase is to help conserve land, protect wildlife and help with other expenses. The agency is facing a $1 million shortfall.

Executive Director Glenn Normandeau said expenses have outpaced revenue and fewer people are buying hunting licenses every year.

"Here's the fundamental problem in the state of New Hampshire that we got: We're the third oldest state in the country and the average age of this state is 41," Normandeau said.

Both hunting and fishing permits will increase by ten dollars.
