Local Roof Shoveling Accidents Make Me Change My Message [VIDEO]

Two separate roof shoveling accidents in nearby Massachusetts towns have really made me rethink the post I wrote on Sunday morning. Basically the summary was,"This isn't all that safe but, hey, I got free soup and cookies for it and that's all that matters."

You don't need to do much research to determine that my strategy was not the safest option. Men in professional crews are being hurt in this line of work all the time and these are people who know what they're doing, with proper footwear AND coordination AND balance.

Next winter, I'm doing one of two things.  A) Following this list of do's and don'ts...or... B) Buying myself one of these slick snow cube tarp sliding wonder rakes in the video above. I dare you to start watching this guy clear off his roof without being entranced. Safe AND hypnotic. Be careful out there!
