Maine, Massachusetts Make List of Yelp’s Best Restaurants for 2024

Yelp, according to Wiki, is a word that combines the word Help with Yellow Pages.  It's also easy to spell and to remember.

Founded in 2004, it can make or break a business these days. Would you ever go in a restaurant with only one-star reviews?

Each year, Yelp releases a list of the top 100 restaurants in the country.  For 2024, three of them are right here in New England.

Shannon's Unshelled, Boothbay, Maine 

Coming in at Number 42 is Shannon's Unshelled in Boothbay, Maine.

Shannon is the owner of this seasonal restaurant, and her catchphrase is "from trap to table," referring to the lobster she serves her patrons.

It is a seasonal place, however, so if you plan on going, make sure it's open and go early to avoid the wait.

Maple Soul, Rochester, Vermont

Coming in at 46 is Maple Soul in Rochester, Vermont.

Their tagline, according to their website, is "from farm to table to soul."

From Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Rochester, Vermont, is approximately 2.5 hours.

Union Park Pizza, Boston, Massachusetts

Coming in at #90 on the Yelp list is Union Park Pizza on Newbury Street in Boston, Massachusetts.

If you are bold enough to open up a pizza shop in the posh neighborhood of the Back Bay, not far from the Hilton Boston Park Plaza Hotel, you have to up your game, no matter what you are selling.

The neighborhood could also be an advantage because you can get a large meat lover's pizza for $31.  Sounds pricey, but 2/3 people can split it.
