The Washington Post figured out how smart and dumb each state is and New Hampshire is one of the smartest states in the country, but we already knew that!

Here is what they used to determine an intelligence score for each state:

  1. IQ, as estimated by Virginia Commonwealth's Michael McDaniel in 2006
  2. 2015 SAT scores, compiled by The Post
  3. 2015 ACT scores, via the company that administers the tests
  4. The percentage of college graduates in the state, compiled by the Census Bureau

Here are the top 10 smartest states according to the Washington Post:

1Massachusetts
2Minnesota
3New Hampshire
4Connecticut
5Wisconsin
6Kansas
7Vermont
8Iowa
9New Jersey
10Colorado

Not bad at all! New Hampshire ranked 3rd! Check out Massachusetts leading the way at number 1!
