Over Half of People Surveyed Would Buy a Haunted House
I'm not one of them.
A survey conducted by Realtor.com reveals that 63% of people would be willing to buy a house that is believed to be haunted if they could get it for less than full market value.
In case you are wondering, here are some warning signs that a house might be haunted:
- The house is at least 100 years old.
- There is a cemetery on the property
- The property is on or close to a battlefield.
I don't mind the house being 100 years old. That's a house with a lot of stories to tell. As long as Lizzie Borden isn't a character in the stories I'm ok.
Forget a cemetery on the property, I'm out.
Same with a battlefield. Though much of my childhood was spent exploring Civil War battlefields, I'm not sure I'd be up for hearing cannon fire in the middle of the night for no reason.
