In an attempt to increase the depth on defense, and probably try and replace some of the injured players (see Jerod Mayo), the Patriots traded for LB Jonathan Casillas from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the NFL trade deadline yesterday.

The 6-year veteran was traded to the Patriots in exchange for...no clue. The trade terms are undisclosed at this point.

Casillas is 27, 6' 1", 227 lbs and played for the Saints before coming to the Bucs. He's played in 5 games with only 3 starts and has only 9 tackles. Again this is more of a depth move, and who knows; Casillas could come in and wow Coach Belichick.

We saw Akeem Ayers, a recently acquired player, make some nice plays last week after only being on the team for a few days.

Pats take on the Denver Broncos this weekend at 4:25 p.m. Brady vs. Manning. DK vs. Anxiety. Who you got?

GO PATS!
