Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition Features First Plus-Size Model

Model Ashley Graham will make history with her appearance in an ad within this year's issue of the magazine.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition is looking to add some variety to their magazine with the addition of different body types.

Plus-size model Ashley Graham announced that she will star in an advertisement for Swimsuitsforall in the annual issue. This is the first time a plus-size model has been featured in the popular magazine edition.

"I know my curves are sexy and I want everyone to know that theirs are, too. This is no reason to hide and every reason to flaunt. The world is ready for more curves in bikinis," Graham said in a statement.

27-year-old Graham is a size 14 model who promote a body-positive image in the face of constant pressure to be thin. The Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue will come out on Feb. 9.
