State of Emergency Over
( Concord, N.H. ) - Gov. Maggie Hassan has declared New Hampshire's state of emergency over, following a huge snowstorm that shut down state government on Tuesday, closed schools and left more than 2 feet of snow in some towns.
Hassan had issued the declaration on Monday, a day before the storm, which was forecast to reach blizzard conditions along the Seacoast and in southeastern New Hampshire.
She did not issue a travel ban.
Snow fell at the rate of 1 to 3 inches an hour in some areas and was boosted by strong wind gusts. Power outages and accidents were at a minimum.
