A terrified 8 year old girl fell from a ski lift at Sugarloaf Ski Resort chair lift yesterday, according to a report from WCVB.  I will warn you - the video obtained from WCVB is really hard to watch and more difficult to listen to.  You can hear the poor girl who is screaming in pain and is obviously terrified throughout this entire situation.

The report goes on to say that the girl and her Mother somehow did not get on the lift properly.

You will also hear on the video that the girl is said to have a congenital heart defect.  She was complaining of back pain and was taken by helicopter to a hospital in nearby Farmington.  Her current condition is unknown.

According to a press release from Sugarloaf, the General Manager of the resort, Karl Strand said:

This was obviously a scary incident for everyone involved, and our thoughts are with the family....  The safety of our guests is our first priority in everything we do, and I’m incredibly thankful to our lift attendants and ski patrollers, without whose quick actions this incident could have been much worse.

Hopefully, the girl and her mother are doing much better today.  What a scary circumstance to be in!  They thought they were having a great day on the slopes, then it turns in to a situation that they will, no doubt, talk about their whole lives.  I hope they are doing much better today!
