The FIRST Robotics Competition district championship is taking place April 6th-8th at the Whittemore Center.

There are 64 teams of students from grades 9-12 from all over New England who will be taking part.

According a press release, each team will have to raise money, design a team "brand", polish teamwork skills and build and program robots to perform prescribed tasks.

The challenge this year is Steamworks, an industrial airship-themed game played by two alliances of three robots each.

Come on in and see the younger generation plotting your job's demise.

The Robotics competition is free and open to the public.
