Vince Neil Pleads Guilty to Misdemeanor Battery in Hair-Pulling Case
The incident took place in April at the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas when a woman approached actor Nicolas Cage and Neil, who were reportedly horsing around. During the incident, it was alleged that Neil yanked the woman to the ground by her hair without warning. Though the incident itself was not caught on tape, the aftermath was, with Cage getting Neil to leave the hotel and restraining him in an attempt to get the singer to calm down. That footage, initially posted by TMZ, can be seen below.
According to TMZ, Neil, who initially entered a “not guilty” plea through his lawyers back in July, decided to change his plea after receiving a deal. In return for a guilty plea for misdemeanor battery, the singer will pay $1,000 fine and will spend six months on informal probation. In addition, he’s been ordered to undergo impulse control counseling.
After the incident took place, Neil was sued by Kelly Guerrero as she sought financial reparations for “substantial medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering and emotional distress.” Guerrero revealed that she had been diagnosed with a “fractured coccyx and a severe hip injury” by her primary physician. That case is still pending. Neil was initially cited with misdemeanor battery by the Las Vegas Police Department but was not arrested, only to later be formally charged.
