Don't worry, it's all good now.

According to a story from Seacoast Online, a grenade was found at Four Tree Island in Portsmouth.  A group from Trader Joe's was there and one of them found it and immediately reported it to the Rec Department who then turned it over to the proper authorites.  It's basically, just a piece of metal now.

Just the other day, I did a blog about straws in our waters and how dangerous they are to marine life.  This grenade story is a reminder of all the other things that we have on this earth that are just dumped in to the ocean.  Admittedly, I don't have another solution, but I do what I can.  I've never bought brand new furniture when there's so much that already exists.  Sure, I might need to de-flea a couch or paint a table, but I like to think that I'm helping out Mother Nature.

The story also serves as a reminder to always bring a bag to the park when your walking, hiking or picnic-ing.  You can always take two seconds and pick up somone else's stuff they left behind.  Except if it's a grenade, then leave it alone and do what Trader Joe's did.  Call the Rangers.
