132-Mile Walk From Boston To Cape Elizabeth, Maine Steps Off Sunday
(Boston, Mass.) - Legendary swimmer Diana Nyad leads the EverWalk campaign, designed to get a million Americans to walk at least three times a week.
Four years ago, Diana Nyad became the first person to swim the 110 miles from Florida to Cuba. Her new mission is to get Americans up and walking.
Her latest effort will begin Sunday in Boston, as she leads hundreds of walkers the 132 miles from Copley Square to Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The walk will end Saturday.
She will be joined by her Cuba swim expedition leader Bonnie Stoll and Adrianne Haslet, who lest her leg in the Boston Marathon bombing.
Future EverWalk events are planned in several areas of the country.
