I love this right now!  I absorb everything Kennedys, so running across this is quite exciting.

You can own a piece of Boston history and actually live in it!  John F. Kennedy's grandparents' home is on the market, listed by Leslie MacKinnon of Compass Realty in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. I have a tour ready for us below.

According to the listing, this 5 bedroom, 2.5 bath Colonial in the idyllic Carruth neighborhood was built in 1892. Former Boston Mayor John Fitzgerald and his wife, JFK's grandmother Mary Josephine Hannon Fitzgerald, called this place home. JFK would come to visit them at this place.

Located at 3 Rundel Park in Boston, the listing says that this iconic residence has views of the Blue Hills and sits on a cul-de-sac lined with original street lamps. Within the house, it has preserved period details that include three mantled fireplaces, dentil and crown moulding, high ceilings, and hardwood floors. Tasteful updates include kitchen & bathroom renovations, a new roof, upgraded electrical and mechanicals, and a new driveway and masonry.

According to Real Estate Boston, Grandpa Honey Fitz passed away in 1946 and Grandma Mary stayed until the mid-60s.  As you can imagine, even though JFK visited the home growing up, it became famous when he would visit as President.  Rumor has it that the multiple phone jacks in the primary bedroom closet were used by the Secret Service when JFK would visit.

This home is around 3,300 square feet and listed at $1,299,000 million, last selling for $540,000 in 2016.

Before we start the tour, here are some photos from Dorchester from the JFK library.  Some look like they may be in front of this home.

Now, let's take a tour.
